High Blood Pressure and Weak Erections

(Written by David Jaynes)

Do you have high blood pressure and weak
erections?

If so, the fix isn’t too complicated, simply bring
your blood pressure back into line.high-blood-pressure-weak-erections

This is important because high blood pressure can lead to serious to erection problems…

Especially once you add in the drugs that big pharma pushes to “cure it”.

Here’s why you need to get your BP under control, and how you can do it naturally.

First, a quick review of how you get an erection:

  • Your brain sends signals to your penis to get hard.
  • The soft tissue in the shaft relaxes. This lets blood flow in.
  •  As the blood flows in, it gets trapped as the tissue squeezes the veins to stop the blood from draining out.
  • When you’re all done, blood is released as the pressure on the veins relaxes.

That’s the quick and dirty version of how an erection works. As you can see blood is essential, and you need get it where it needs to go quickly and effectively.

Here’s where high blood pressure comes in.

First, it makes arteries stiffen. In conjunction with narrowing arteries, blood flows more slowly through your entire vascular your system.

This means it simply takes longer to get blood trapped in your penis in order to get hard.

Second, that stiffening of arteries happens in the soft tissues of your penis as well.

This means that the tissue can’t relax, which means blood doesn’t get trapped, which means that your wood is… a bit more bendy then you might like.

Of course, this isn’t just anecdotal evidence from disgruntled men suffering with high BP. This is a widespread problem for about half of the men out there.

For example…

A study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society found that for men 40-79 with high blood pressure, a whopping 49% of them had ED.

Another study that included younger men found that 35% of those with high BP had erectile dysfunction, but only 14% of the men with normal blood pressure readings had ED.

To put it another way, high blood pressure arguably increases your risk of ED by approximately 150%.

To make matters worse, the medication that doctors will give you to treat it will very likely exacerbate the problem…

Blood Pressure Drugs And Weak Erections

To treat high blood pressure, doctors generally turn to two drugs: diuretics or beta-blockers.

Neither is good news for your erections.

Diuretics, or water pills as they’re often called, work by making your kidneys remove sodium and water from your body, which relaxes the arteries and thus, lowers blood pressure.

However, a common side effect is, erectile dysfunction.

These drugs often make it more difficult to get blood into your penis by decreasing blood flow.

They also decrease how much zinc you have in your system, which is critical to your erection health.

Beta-blockers work on your hormones to lower your heart beat. Epinephrine speeds up your heart beat, and is manufactured by your body in case you need to run away from a lion.

By blocking the epinephrine, your heart beats more slowly and with less force.

Unfortunately, the nervous system pathways epinephrine travels along and that beta-blockers block are the same pathways that your brain uses to tell your wood to stand at attention.

So while you’ve got lower blood pressure, your sex life is definitely going to suffer.

Luckily, there are many ways you can lower blood pressure that will only have positive side effects on your erections

Here Are 5 Excellent Ways to Lower BP Naturally

1. Drink Beet Juice

We’ve talked about the wonderful power of beets before but these nutritional superstars deserve another mention.

They’re great at lowering blood pressure with no negative effect on your wood.

In fact, from personal experience, quite the opposite happens. And the science agrees.

One study published in the Nutritional Journal found that beets lowered systolic blood pressure quite effectively in men.

Also, in 2013 a meta-analysis of 16 studies was published that found that beet juice:

Was associated with a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure.

The key is the nitrates in the beets, which (among other things) helps boost your body’s levels of Nitric Oxide (NO).

2. Eat or Juice Celery

Celery is another vegetable that’s great for ED and for blood pressure.

According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, celery is a natural diuretic.

Similar to how commercial diuretics work, it helps your kidneys remove sodium and water from your system and thus, relaxes the arteries.

Four scientists looked into this in a study on 30 hypertensive patients and found that celery reduced both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Celery is so effective because it contains:

• High levels of plant nitrates
• The male steroid androstenene
• Potassium, folate, vitamin K, etc..

The result is that you get better wood and lower blood pressure. Like beet juice, it’s a double whammy for your erections.

3. Supplement With Olive Leaf Extract

Olives have been used in the Mediterranean diet for centuries and have been linked to low blood pressure and healthy hearts in Italy, Greece, Spain and France.

Olive leaf extract is just a concentration of those benefits.

The key ingredient here is Oleuropein, which is a compound found in olive leaves.

In a study published in Life Sciences in 1998…

Researchers found that animal cells injected with Oleuropein produced more nitric oxide, which acted as a natural diuretic that reduced pressure on the arterial walls.

When they tried the same experiment on live rats, they found the same result.

What’s more, they found that Oleuropein actually acted in a preventative capacity, stopping high blood pressure from developing in the first place.

4. Drink Coconut Water

I know, we’re  jumping on a trend here since coconut water is all the rage these days.

But, it truly can help you control your high blood pressure.

A study on 28 people published in the West Indian Medical Journal found that in the group who were given coconut water…

71% experienced decreased blood pressure, with 29% experiencing a significant decrease (source).

These results were attributed to coconut water’s nutritional content, as its rich in vitamins and minerals like potassium, vitamin C, and magnesium.

5. Walk Daily To Harden Weak Erections

Of course, the easiest way to improve your BP and thus your erections is to just walk around!

Especially as you get older, walking becomes the ideal exercise.

A study on 23 volunteers over 60 was done, where they measured baseline BP and then had half the group walk and the other half just continue as normal.

As predicted, the exercise group saw a significant improvement in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

The thing is, they only had the participants walk for 30 minutes a day!

A study on men over 70 found a similar result, and they only walked for 20 minutes a day.

Finally, you should also consider taking pine pollen to reduce blood pressure.

High Blood Pressure and Weak Erections – Conclusion:

High blood pressure doesn’t need to spell the end of your sex life.

With some simple diet tweaks and a little more exercise, you can get off the meds and still keep your BP under control, and even give a boost to your erections while you’re at it.

Of course, the best possible cure for high blood pressure is being healthy in general, especially about your weight.

If you can control your weight as you get older, your heart, arteries, wood, and wife are all going to thank you for it.
