Before you reach for the Viagra, try these 10 Home Treatments For Erectile Dysfunction. They’ll get you hard and get you ready for whatever comes your way in the bedroom.

1. Drink Beet JuiceHome-Treatments-For-Erectile-Dysfunction

Take a leaf out of Dwight K. Schrute’s book and get yourself some beets. They’re packed full of antioxidants to clear your system of free radicals, and they’re loaded with other vitamins like potassium and vitamin C.

But most importantly, beets are one of the best natural sources of nitrate…

A precursor which your body uses to make nitric oxide, a gas that relaxes blood vessels allowing blood to flow freely into your penis as you become aroused.

Beets have more of this raw ingredient that just about any other plant in nature.

For an even more concentrated source of nitrate, try beet root powder. When you cook beets you actually cook out some of the nitrate. Beet root powder processed at low temperatures retains most of these erection boosting compounds.

And as an added benefit, it’s much easier to prepare and not nearly as messy to deal with as whole beet roots are.

Update: I’ve changed my take on this last point, which you read about Here.

2. Expose Your Testicles To Sunlight

Dr. Zane R. Kime (MD) has written about this topic a number of times, and has actually found evidence that sunlight can have a positive effect on many conditions like heart disease, lung disease, cancer, and a host of other illnesses.

Natural sunlight can have a positive effect on your gear as well, especially if you have Low-T.

Why?

For starters, vitamin D is closely linked to increased testosterone production. Since vitamin D is created when sunlight hits your skin, hitting your T factories increases testosterone production inside your testicles.

Vitamin D is key ingredient used by your body to synthesize this hormone….and you actually have vitamin D receptors sitting right on top of your testis.

And when you hit them with direct sunlight they increase production of testosterone by as much as 200 percent.

This method is especially effective in men who have low blood levels of vitamin D to begin with.

If this describes you, 10 minutes of direct exposure several times a week is all you need to feel the effects.

3. Eat Ginger (or use supplements)

Ginger or (Zingiber official Roscoe) is hugely beneficial to your cardiovascular health, and in turn is an easy way for you to increase blood flow into your penis.

The International Journal of Cardiology found that ginger is very effective at treating certain cardiovascular disease conditions, with far fewer side effects than big pharma counterparts.

Likewise, the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology found in animal studies that ginger was effective at reducing hypertension and improving blood flow, and at a dosage 14 times lower than a drug commonly used to treat these conditions (3).

4. Supplement With Zinc

Zinc is a major component of both sperm and semen production and maintaining high zinc levels is critical for testosterone production and sex drive. (5).

Blatant zinc deficiency can cause hypogonadism in males and impotence if levels fall too low.

A paper published in 2010 found that an oral zinc supplement increased testosterone in elderly men, leading to improved erectile function and more frequent sexual intercourse.

At high doses, zinc actually acts as an aromatase inhibitor, and can reduce estrogen levels in the body.

Beef, oysters, pork, lamb and chicken are all good sources of zinc.

If you’re a vegetarian, drink alcohol in excess, use ACE inhibitors or stomach acid reducers like Zantac or Prilosec, you’re going to need to use supplements to keep your levels in the zone, as all of these decrease zinc levels in the body.

But remember…

Excessive zinc supplementation can lead to copper deficiency over time, so I suggest limiting the dosage to no more 25 mg daily until you get your zinc levels back up into the optimal range.

5. Eat Nutmeg

Nutmeg has been used for hundreds of years as a seasoning in food all over the world. But recent studies suggest that it’s not just a pleasant tasting spice, it’s also one of the most effective home treatments for erectile dysfunction…

In 2005, a study completed on rats found that nutmeg-fed rats vs rats that were fed no nutmeg… had more sustained and frequent sexual activity, with no negative side effects.

This sustained and significant improvement is likely due to the naturally occurring plant sterols. Nutmeg also works as an anti depressant, and may address psychological causes of ED as well.

6. Eat Grass fed Butter or Ghee

Grass fed butter or Ghee (clarified butter) is made from milk produced by grass-fed cows. Grass fed products like butter and Ghee have high levels of vitamin K2, which is lacking in the typical western diet.

K2 keeps calcium deposits out of your arteries, allowing blood to flow freely. Grass fed butter and ghee also contain vitamin A, which is essential for the production of testosterone.

7. Eat Garlic

Garlic is another great way to easily keep your ED in check. Just a little bit every day directly helps you get hard by increasing the synthase of nitric oxide (NO), which together with cGMP form the core processes needed for a full erection (9).

Nitric oxide works to make you hard by relaxing the spongy tissue in your penis, thereby allowing blood to flow in and get trapped.

8. Have Sex More Frequently

This can be tough to do if you’re dealing with low testosterone, but to get your wood where you want it, you need to get busy in the sack.

Finnish researchers found that men who have sex at least once a week are about half as likely to have ED problems than men who get it less often.

The study found that sex just once a week decreased the likelihood of developing ED, and sex three times a week drove the chance down even further (10).

9. Eat Pomegranate

Pomegranate, either fresh or a powder has been found to help ED sufferers.

Like garlic, pomegranate boosts nitric oxide production, but it’s also loaded with antioxidants.

Antioxidants help clear your system of free radicals, which can hinder the metabolic processes of NO production. So it’s a double edged sword.

On the one hand, it boosts NO production, and on the other, it makes that NO more metabolically efficient.

Plus, pomegranate is great for cardiovascular health. So in addition to improving your wood, it’s good for your health in general.

10. Do Pelvic Floor Exercises In The Shower Every Morning

Your penis is like any other part of your body. You have to exercise the surrounding muscles to keep it in tip top shape.

Like curls work your biceps, pelvic floor moves work the right muscles for your erection. (These are often called Kegel exercises).

The best place to do these is in the shower each morning. By working your pelvic floor with Kegel exercises, you:

  • Improve  blood flow to your penis
  • Strengthen the muscles involved in the erection process

You’ll find detailed instructions on how to perform these ED boosting exercises Here.

ED Home Treatments Conclusion:

You don’t need to pump your system full of chemicals, and you don’t need to deal with negative side effects. Having a great sex life can be more about making small changes every single day, and watching them build over time.

If you take these 10 tips to heart and commit to all these things, your sex life will be back on track in no time.
